Prevent and Kill Blight & Powdery Mildew With Baking Sod Prevent and Kill Blight & Mildew With Baking Soda. 1: Mix 3 T. baking soda with 1 gal. of water. 2: Mix in 1 T. vegetable oil or cooking oil. Helps spray to stick to leaves. 3: Mix in 2 drops of dish soap to help mix everything. 4: Spray on tops & bottoms of leaves till dripping. Begin with 3 T. & apply one time each week for 3 weeks. Then switch to 3 1/2 T. if fungus is still growing or spreading. Start spraying in the morning or evening – Spraying in the heat of the day can harm leaves.
